Westbrook triple-double sparks Thunder, Pacers stun Clippers
A return of 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists made it five consecutive triple-doubles for Oklahoma City Thunder star Russell Westbrook.
Russell Westbrook was at it again as the Oklahoma City Thunder outlasted the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA on Sunday.
Westbrook posted a triple-double to lead the Thunder to a 101-92 win over the Pelicans.
A return of 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists made it five consecutive triple-doubles for Westbrook.
The Los Angeles Clippers, meanwhile, suffered a 111-102 defeat to the Indiana Pacers.
NOT SINCE MICHAEL JORDAN…
In 1989, when the Chicago Bulls icon recorded seven triple-doubles, has a player had five successive games of double-figure points, rebounds and assists.
But Westbrook changed all that in Oklahoma City on Sunday.
The Thunder have won all five games during Westbrook's run of triple-doubles, with the five-time NBA All-Star now boasting 10 this season and 47 throughout his career.
CLIPPERS AND THEIR INDIFFERENT FORM CONTINUES
The team to beat earlier in the season, the Clippers are struggling for consistency.
Against a familiar opponent, who upstaged them a week ago, the Clippers came unstuck.
The Clippers - coming off back-to-back wins - have now lost four of their past six games, despite double-doubles from Blake Griffin (24 points, 16 rebounds) and Chris Paul (18 points, 11 assists).
