Kevin Love lost 10 pounds due to food poisoning
Kevin Love thinks he became ill after eating fish on the Cleveland Cavaliers' flight home from Charlotte on New Year's Eve.
Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is sick. No, not in the crazy, high-calibre sense but in a literal one, and it is not pretty.
Love left Monday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans midway through the fourth quarter after missing all seven of his three-pointers. He did not look right all game, knocking down just five of 19 shots.
Cavs coach Tyronn Lue told reporters following the 90-82 win that Love dropped 10 pounds in two days because of what the team is calling food poisoning. Love thinks he became ill after eating fish on Cleveland's flight home from Charlotte on New Year's Eve.
"We didn't think he was going to be able to play [Monday]," Lue said, via Cleveland.com, having cancelled the Cavs' shoot around to give Love a chance to rest.
"He said he's going to give it a go. He came out there and gave us 24 strong minutes, which we needed. He had 12 and 11 in those 24 minutes but just his presence on the floor was big for us and for him to gut it out the way he did was big for us."
Love, who is averaging 22.2 points and 10.9 rebounds this season, should be considered questionable for Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls.
