Bucks’ Jabari Parker out for season with torn ACL
Jabari Parker will need surgery on a torn ACL injury, the Milwaukee Bucks have confirmed.
Milwaukee Bucks have been dealt a blow after it was confirmed Jabari Parker will be absent for approximately 12 months due to a serious knee injury.
Parker was sent for an MRI scan after hurting his left knee in the Bucks' 106-88 defeat to Miami Heat on Wednesday.
The results confirmed that the 21-year-old has sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury, meaning he will play no part in the rest of the NBA season, while his recovery time is expected to be a year.
Head coach Jason Kidd confirmed the news and Parker is set to undergo surgery to repair the injury.
Parker suffered the injury on a non-contact play in the third quarter.
The Bucks initially announced that he had suffered a sprained ankle. After further evaluation, however, the injury appeared to be much more severe.
The ACL is the same one Parker tore in his rookie year, ending his season early in December 2014.
Parker was averaging 20 points on 37 per cent three-point shooting, six rebounds and three assists this season.
