Carmelo Anthony has no idea who he wants as the next coach of the New York Knicks, but he does want a say in the decision.

As the Knicks continue their search, Anthony said on Tuesday he would like to be consulted by the team to help narrow down the field.

"Because you gotta think about it: This is gonna be a long-term journey of playing and you consider me being part of that plan, then I would want to know what's going on," Anthony told the New York Post.

The Knicks are in the market for a full-time replacement for Derek Fisher, who was fired in February.

Kurt Rambis took over as the interim coach, and the team finished 32-50, missing the play-offs for the third year in a row.

The Knicks star said he wants a coach who will hold players accountable, but also relate to them.

"I think being able to hold guys accountable, but also having a relationship with the player," Anthony told the Post.

"Kind of seeing things from a players' perspective as well as a coach's perspective. I think if you can build that camaraderie between a coach and a player, I think you're onto something."
