Diesel spill delays F1 practice
Practice for the Russian Grand Prix was made all that trickier pre-session as an oil spill hit the track in Sochi.
The Russian Grand Prix's first practice session had to be delayed after a section of the track in Sochi was hit by a diesel spill.
FP1 officially got under way at its scheduled start time at 10:00 local time (07:00 GMT), though teams were prevented from running their cars for the first half-hour of the session.
The spill was thought to have been caused by a sweeper truck that made its way around the track before the session, but is not expected to have an impact on Saturday's qualifying or the race on Sunday.
