Aprilia at the double in Qatar finale
Jordi Torres claimed his first World Superbike victory on the final weekend of the season in Qatar and team-mate Leon Haslam won Race 2.
Aprilia ended the World Superbike season on a high note with victories for Leon Haslam and Jordi Torres on the final weekend in Qatar.
Haslam signed off in style as he left it until the final corner of Race 2 to claim his second victory of the year and ensure Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing Ducati) had to settle for second place, with Kawasaki's Tom Sykes third.
Haslam and Davies were involved in a thrilling battle for victory that went right down to the wire and it was the Englishman who took the chequered flag courtesy of a final-corner pass at the Losail International circuit.
Davies was able to celebrate finishing second in the standings behind new world champion Jonathan Rea, whose hopes of breaking the points record for a season ended when he was forced to retire on the sixth lap of the final race due to a mechanical issue.
Torres had taken Race 1 ahead of Rea and Sykes to end his wait for a first World Superbike victory.
