MotoGP to change Barcelona circuit after Salom crash
Having made temporary track changes for the 2016 Catalan GP after Luis Salom's crash, MotoGP are now to put in place permanent alterations.
MotoGP are to make some permanent changes to the layout of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya after Luis Salom's fatal Moto2 crash in June.
Modifications were made during the 2016 Catalan GP weekend following Salom's tragic accident on the Friday, and MotoGP have now announced that work will begin in January to alter the track.
FIM requirements will see the Formula One layout used at turn 10 and a chicane after turn 13 - before the chicane used in F1.
The new layout will make the circuit slightly shorter at 4,652 metres.
