Hamilton, Vettel in points battle & Rosberg's barren run - European Grand Prix in numbers
Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel head to Baku level at the top of the all-time points rankings, while Nico Rosberg is out of form.
For the first time in history, Formula One is heading to Azerbaijan for the European Grand Prix in Baku.
After following up his victory in Monaco by topping the podium in Canada last weekend, Lewis Hamilton will be looking to make it a hat-trick of triumphs on Sunday and potentially overtake Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg at the top of the drivers' standings.
The reigning world champion moved level with Sebastian Vettel in F1's all-time points rankings in Montreal, so whoever finishes higher in the top 10 this weekend will go clear at the top of that leaderboard.
Rosberg, meanwhile, will be seeking to end a run of three races without a podium, contrasting starkly with his form at the start of the season that included four straight race wins.
Courtesy of Opta data, we look at some of the numbers behind this weekend's European Grand Prix:
1 – Felipe Massa has only failed to secure points at one Grand Prix this season, when he retired in Canada.
3 – Rosberg has failed to finish on the podium in three successive races for the first time since 2013.
4 – If Vettel secures pole position, he will become the driver with the most poles at the European Grand Prix, surpassing Michael Schumacher's three.
6 – Baku will be the sixth different circuit to host the European Grand Prix after Brands Hatch and Donington in England, Jerez de la Frontera and Valencia in Spain, and Germany's Nurburgring.
51 – Hamilton's triumph in Canada was the 51st in Mercedes' F1 history, equalling Red Bull as the team with the fifth-most race victories.
83 – By finishing second last weekend, Vettel moved level with Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen on 83 career podiums in F1 – Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Alain Prost and Schumacher all have more.
1,974 – A win in Canada sent Hamilton level with Vettel as the driver with the most points in F1 history.
