Elgar replaces injured Duminy for South Africa
A hand injury has ruled JP Duminy out of the rest of South Africa's ODI series against India, with Dean Elgar drafted in as a replacement.
Dean Elgar has been called up to South Africa's squad for the remainder of their one-day international series against India after JP Duminy was ruled out through injury.
Duminy suffered a laceration to his right hand when fielding his own delivery in the Proteas' 18-run win in Sunday's third ODI in Rajkot, which saw South Africa take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
South Africa confirmed on their official website that Duminy requires two to three weeks of recovery, but will remain in India as they hope to have him available for the four-match Test series that starts next month.
Left-handed batsman Elgar is subsequently drafted in to replace Duminy.
The 28-year-old has played in five ODIs for South Africa, but has not played in the 50-over format since September 2012 against England.
