Schalke striker Embolo suffers broken ankle
Breel Embolo is expected to be out of action for the rest of 2016 after suffering a broken ankle in Schalke's match with Augsburg.
Schalke have confirmed Breel Embolo suffered a broken ankle in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Augsburg.
The Switzerland international had to be substituted for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar after 24 minutes of the Bundesliga clash after he went down following a foul from Konstantinos Stafylidis, who was booked for the challenge.
Schalke confirmed after the match that the 19-year-old had fractured his ankle in what they described as a "very, very bitter diagnosis", with the player going to hospital for treatment.
Reports in Germany suggest Embolo will miss the rest of 2016 with the injury.
Embolo joined Schalke from Basel in June for a reported initial fee of €20million. He has scored two goals in seven league appearances, four of which were starts.
