Real Madrid's surprise defeat to Murcia means Unicaja top the Liga ACB standings after Round 25 following their victory over Tenerife.

Unicaja moved to 21-4 with an 89-71 victory on Sunday, Caleb Green hitting 30 points en route to the win.

Green's feats were almost matched by Tenerife's Nicolas Richotti, who claimed 26 points, but it was all in vain as the hosts fell to 11-14.

Unicaja's victory put the pressure on Real, who tipped off four-and-a-half hours later, and they were unable to move back level with their rivals after going down 86-79 at Murcia.

Jose Angel Antelo (15 points) top scored for the visitors, while there were also useful contributions from Scott Bamforth (14) and Nemanja Radovic (13).

Behind the leading duo, both Barcelona and Bilbao went down to away defeats.

Barca were heavily beaten 93-73 at Valencia - for whom Pau Ribas top-scored with 18 points - while Bilbao fell to a 76-64 loss at Zaragoza.

Fifth-placed FIATC Joventut also lost out, 82-67 at home to MoraBanc Andorra on Saturday, while Laboral Kutxa hammered Gipuzkoa 95-66 thanks in no small part to 20 points from Fernando San Emeterio.

Elsewhere, Sevilla overcame Estudiantes 74-65, Rio Natura Monbus earned an 88-82 victory at bottom club Montakit Fuenlabrada and La Bruixa d'Or boosted their chances of pulling clear of the bottom by defeating Herbalife Gran Canaria 81-75.
