Thunder star Kevin Durant halts basketball activities, out indefinitely
Oklahoma City Thunder general manager says the team is not "married to a timetable" on Kevin Durant's return.
If the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to make the NBA play-offs, they will likely have to do it without their franchise player Kevin Durant.
Durant has been removed from all basketball activities due to a setback in his recovery from a foot injury.
And Thunder general manager Sam Presti said Friday that Durant is out indefinitely.
"He's not making the progress that we hoped and expected," Presti told reporters.
Presti did not say how long Durant would be out, but it does not sound like they are expecting him back any time soon.
"The goal is to get him back on the court healthy, whenever that is," Presti said. "If that takes the rest of the regular season, if that takes the play-offs, that's what it takes."
Durant has not played since February 19. He averaged 25.4 points per game in 27 appearances this season before undergoing surgery on February 22.
The Thunder are 38-30 and in eighth place in a tough Western Conference.
"Unless he's [Durant] able to get back on the floor without soreness, he won't be on the floor," Presti added.
