Curry leads Warriors to within a win of NBA title
The Golden State Warriors are a win away from their first NBA championship in 40 years after a game five win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Steph Curry guided the Golden State Warriors to within a win of a fourth NBA title after a 104-91 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in game five on Sunday.
The NBA MVP had a team-high 37 points at the Oracle Arena, while he also contributed seven rebounds and four assists as the Warriors moved into a 3-2 series lead.
Curry went seven-of-13 from three-point range for the Warriors, who also got good contributions from Draymond Green (16 points), Andre Iguodala (14), Leandro Barbosa (13) and Klay Thompson (12).
LeBron James was huge once again for the Cavs, recording yet another triple-double with 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists.
James became the first player in NBA Finals history to have three triple-doubles away from home.
Tristan Thompson (19 points) was Cleveland's next highest scorer, while JR Smith hit four three-pointers in his 14-point haul.
With just over five minutes remaining, the Cavs were in the game - trailing 85-84.
But the Warriors blew the Cavs away from there, going on a 19-7 run to finish the encounter.
Curry ended up with 17 points in the fourth quarter alone as the Warriors closed in on a first NBA title in 40 years.
Game six is at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday, when the hosts will need a win to force a game seven.
