Ludwigsburg end Besiktas' perfect record
Besiktas had won six out of six in the Basketball Champions League before a trip to Ludwigsburg on Tuesday ended that perfect start.
MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg became the first side to defeat Besiktas in the Basketball Champions League to move just a point behind their opponents at the top of Group E.
Besiktas came into Tuesday's meeting in Germany having won all of their opening six encounters, and looked in a good position for a magnificent seven when they lead by three heading into the final quarter.
But the home side fought back strongly to seal an 89-83 success, Kelvin Martin top scoring for the victors with 15 points as Ludwigsburg moved to 5-2.
Martin was outscored by both Michael Roll (18 points) and Kyle Weems (16), but their efforts were in a losing cause for the visitors.
Elsewhere in that group, Partizan and Dinamo Sassari produced the game of the day, the latter prevailing 88-87 after overtime - Will Hatcher netting 23 points for Partizan with Josh Carter's 21 proving decisive for the winners.
In Group D, Sidigas Avellino moved level with Juventus on 5-2 after an 85-75 victory, while pace-setters Banvit and Monaco both moved to 6-1 in Group A with respective triumphs over Bakken Bears and Aris.
