Dodgers make Turner's four-year deal official
The Los Angeles Dodgers finalised the re-signing of Justin Turner on a four-year deal.
Third baseman Justin Turner and the Los Angeles Dodgers finalised a $64million, four-year contract on Friday.
In 2016, his third season with the Dodgers after stints with the Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets, Turner, 32, continued to emerge as an offensive force.
His 27 home runs and 90 RBIs tied for the team lead in those categories with Yasmani Grandal and Adrian Gonzalez respectively.
He was also named a Gold Glove finalist in 2016 for the first time in his career.
"Playing in Los Angeles has been special for me, and I want to continue to represent and give back to this community," Turner said in a statement released by the team.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said: "JT has been, and will continue to be, a vital part of the Dodgers on the field, in the clubhouse and in the community.
"His talent, work ethic, leadership and instincts for the game embodies a lot of what we look for in a Dodger player."
