Toulon snaps up ex-All Black McAlister
With Matt Giteau departing for Japan at the end of the season, Toulon has drafted in Luke McAlister as his replacement.
Former New Zealand fly-half Luke McAlister will swap Toulouse for Toulon from the 2017-2018 Top 14 season.
McAlister has agreed a one-year contract with an option for a further season at Stade Mayol, bringing an end to his association with Toulouse after six campaigns.
The 33 year-old has been drafted in as a replacement for Matt Giteau, who will depart for Japan at the conclusion of the season.
McAlister, who scored 153 Test points in 30 caps for the All Blacks, kicked six penalties when Toulouse beat Toulon 18-12 in the 2011-2012 Top 14 final.
He will reunite with former international team-mate Ma'a Nonu, who president Mourad Boudjellal said had signed an extension in February.
