Ryan keeps it clean as Genk progresses
Australia goalkeeper Mat Ryan kept a clean sheet as Genk secured passage into the UEFA Europa League round of 16 with a 1-0 win over Astra on Friday (AEDT).
Ryan joined Genk on loan in January after falling down the pecking order at Valencia, and the shot stopper has slotted straight in as the club's first-choice keeper.
Genk took a 2-2 draw into the second leg, and the home side had the ascendency early on, but failed to test Lung with any clear-cut chances.
The Belgian side picked up where it left off in the second half, and eventually broke the deadlock after 67 minutes, courtesy of a stunning free kick from Alex Pozuelo.
The 1-0 win was enough to see Genk through to the UEFA Europa League round of 16.
