Leipzig fails to put pressure on Bayern
Bayern Munich was put on the brink of the Bundesliga title after nearest rival RB Leipzig was held by lowly Ingolstadt at Red Bull Arena.
RB Leipzig left the door open for Bayern Munich to clinch the Bundesliga title against Wolfsburg on Sunday (AEST) — which it duly did — after stumbling to a goalless draw against struggling Ingolstadt, which finished the match with 10 men.
Ralph Hasenhuttl's men knew only a win at Red Bull Arena would guarantee it remained in the hunt for a further week.
Yussuf Poulsen and Davie Selke were guilty of missing great chances for Leipzig, and its misery was compounded by a second-half injury to talisman Timo Werner.
The result left Leipzig seven points adrift of Bayern, which has four games to play compared to Lepizig's three, while Ingolstadt, which had Alfredo Morales sent off four minutes from time, remains second from bottom.
