James joins Bayern on two-year loan
After falling down the pecking order at Real Madrid, James Rodriguez has agreed to join Bayern Munich on a two-year loan.
Rodriguez will link up with Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal, with the Bundesliga champion holding a purchase option for the Colombia star.
Since joining Real Madrid in 2015, the 25 year-old has won the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup twice and La Liga once.
Bayern Munich Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expressed his delight at the signing, saying:
“We’re delighted we’ve been able to complete this transfer. Signing James Rodríguez was our coach Carlo Ancelotti’s biggest wish, following their successful spell working together in Madrid,”
“James is a very versatile player. He’s a goalscorer himself, he sets up a lot of goals and on top of that he’s great from set-pieces. There’s no question that this transfer further increases the quality in our team.”
James Rodríguez will be a member of the FC Bayern squad that sets off on Sunday evening for the 12-day Tour to China and Singapore.
