Ronaldo gives Nani EURO 2016 silver boot
Nani took to social media to thank Portugal team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo for giving away his UEFA EURO 2016 silver boot award after the final win over France.
Cristiano Ronaldo finished second, behind Antoine Griezmann, in the race to be crowned the top scorer at EURO 2016 and decided to give the award to his former Manchester United team-mate.
Nani was instrumental in Portugal's EURO 2016 campaign and took the captain's armband off Ronaldo after he succumbed to a knee injury in the first half of the final win over France.
The 29 year-old took to social media after Portugal's 1-0 extra-time win over France to express his delight at Ronaldo giving him the award as a "gift".
Mais do que um capitão és um campeão! Obrigado pelo presente! Força Portugal somos Campeões! More than a captain you're a champion! Thanks for the gift! Still, Ronaldo could well need the extra space in the trophy cabinet soon, with the 31-year-old now odds-on favourite to win the 2016 Ballon d'Or.
Ronaldo will have one eye on the 2016 Ballon d'Or after captaining Portugal to EURO 2016, while rival Lionel Messi stumbled at the last hurdle as Argentina lost the Copa America Centenario final to Chile.
