Nainggolan signs new Roma contract
Despite being linked with Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea, Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has signed a new contract.
Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has signed a new contract, committing his future to the Serie A club to 2021 and ending transfer speculation linking him with Chelsea and Manchester United.
Nainggolan joined Roma in January 2014, and has so far made 161 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals. "I think I have demonstrated that this is what I always wanted," Nainggolan told the club's official website. "I’m very happy, especially that the club and I can continue our adventure and move forward together." Nainggolan was named the fans' player of the season in 2016-2017, arguably his best stint at the club. He scored 14 goals in all competitions, some of them more than spectacular. "We're delighted Radja has committed his long-term future, and the most important years of his career, to the club," Roma president James Pallotta said, adding that there was "never any question of him going elsewhere".
