Langarak's Stuttgart seals Bundesliga promotion
Australia goalkeeper Mitchell Langarak returned to the Bundesliga after VFB Stuttgart thumped Wuerzburg 4-1 on the final day of the season on Monday (AEST).
Stuttgart, which won the Bundesliga title in 2007 bounced straight back to the top flight after being relegated in 2015-2016, and will be joined by fellow Bundesliga regular Hannover 96.
The Reds only needed a point to clinch promotion on the final day, and it never looked in doubt taking the lead in the first half before a second-half flurry sealed their top flight status.
Langarak has been an ever-present figure for Stuttgart this season, playing every minute of every league game.
This will be the 28 year-old's second stint in the Bundesliga after the Australia shot-stopper spent five seasons with German giant Borussia Dortmund.
It was a contrast of fortunes for Langerak's Socceroos team-mate Mathew Leckie, who was relegated to the second division with Ingolstadt.
