Gersbach claims historic double with Rosenborg
Australia defender Alex Gersbach is flying high after Rosenborg thumped Kongsvinger 4-0 in the cup final to become the first Norwegian side to win the double in consecutive seasons.
The former Sydney FC defender moved to Rosenborg in January, making 19 league appearances for the Norwegian giant as it wrapped up the domestic title with five games to play.
With the league title in hand, the 19 year-old had his eyes on winning the double, which became a reality on Sunday (AEDT), when Paal Andre Helland's hat-trick inspired a 4-0 demolition of Kongsvinger.
Gersbach played out the final stages of the match, capping off a trophy laden start to life in Norway.
