Coutinho out until January
Philippe Coutinho is unlikely to play again until the new year as a result of the ankle injury sustained in Liverpool's win over Sunderland.
Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho is facing more than five weeks out of action after sustaining an ankle injury in Sunday's (AEDT) Premier League win over Sunderland, manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
The Brazil playmaker was taken off on a stretcher and scans on Tuesday (AEDT) revealed he will be out for the coming several weeks.
"Phil needs between five and a few weeks until we have him back. We will see. He is not in for tonight and for the next few games," Klopp told the BBC in an interview ahead of Liverpool's EFL Cup quarter-final against Leeds United.
Coutinho will miss the Merseyside derby on 20 December as a result of the injury as well as the New year clash against Manchester City.
